Saquon Barkley: 'I'm excited to go play'

Saquon Barkley isn't surprised by the reaction to the Eagles' estimated injury report that he would not have practiced on Monday.

"I know a lot of people are reacting because it said I wouldn't practice. None of us practiced yesterday," Barkley said in the locker room on Tuesday.

"I know the Eagles are doing what they're supposed to do, but nothing (I'm) too worried about. Just some general soreness. I'm excited to go play (on Thursday against the Giants)."

Once again, the Eagles' injury report is an estimation as the team held a walkthrough on Tuesday.

Barkley would have been limited. That's the only change from Monday's injury report.

Tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) and guard Landon Dickerson (ankle) were the only Eagles who would not have practiced on Tuesday.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean was once again a full participant, as it remains to be seen whether he'll be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of Thursday's game.

"There's a chance he could be active this week," Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said on Tuesday. "Not positive yet."

Jaxson Dart upgraded to full participant on Tuesday

There was only one change on the injury report for the Giants on Tuesday, who held a walkthrough. But it was a big one.

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is on track to start Thursday night against the Eagles despite a hamstring injury. Head Coach Brian Daboll told reporters, according to Giants.com, that Dart "will be OK" for the game.

Dart would have been limited on Monday, if the team practiced, but was full-go on Tuesday. In two starts with Dart, the Giants have a 1-1 record, but are coming off of a 26-14 loss in New Orleans. Dart has completed 65 percent of his pass attempts for 313 yards with four total touchdowns against three turnovers for an 80.8 passer rating.

The Giants did not have starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (back injury) or wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) at Tuesday's walkthrough.

Monday's Injury Report

The Eagles were back to work at the NovaCare Complex on Monday as they have a quick turnaround ahead of Thursday night's prime-time matchup against the New York Giants.

Although the team did not hold a practice, the Eagles were required to provide an estimated injury report.

Tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) and guard Landon Dickerson (ankle) would not have participated in practice on Monday. Both players left Sunday's game against the Broncos early due to injury.

Running back Saquon Barkley also would not have practiced on Monday due to a knee injury. Barkley scored on a 47-yard touchdown reception, the longest such play by an Eagles running back since Darren Sproles (73 yards vs. Pittsburgh) in 2016. Barkley was on the field for the game's final offensive play, quarterback Jalen Hurts' last-second heave into the end zone that fell incomplete.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean, who returned to practice for the first time this season last week, would have been a full participant on Monday with his knee injury. He remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

QB Jaxson Dart limited in Giants' estimated injury report

Like the Eagles, the Giants did not have practice on Monday, but three offensive starters were listed on the estimated injury report.

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, the first-round pick who has started the past two games, would have been limited with a hamstring injury. Dart threw for 202 yards with two touchdowns, two interceptions, and a lost fumble in Sunday's loss to the Saints, while also rushing for 55 yards on the ground.

One of Dart's top targets, now that wide receiver Malik Nabers is out for the year with a knee injury, in wide receiver Darius Slayton would have missed Monday's practice with a hamstring injury. Slayton had three catches on six targets for 31 yards while playing 55 snaps against New Orleans.

Starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor would also have missed practice with a back injury. Elemanuor played all 73 snaps on Sunday.

Defensively, the Giants' top three safeties Dane Belton (shoulder), Jevon Holland (calf), and Tyler Nubin (groin) would all have been limited on Monday due to injury.
