Three-time Major League Baseball manager and World Series winner Joe Girardi has been offered the head coaching post at UCF, MLB.com and Rivals.com reported Thursday.

Girardi, who met with UCF officials on Wednesday, per the Rivals report, is mulling the offer.

UCF is targeting Girardi to replace Greg Lovelady, who was dismissed by the school late last month after seven seasons. UCF is looking to make big splash with its entrance into the Big 12 next baseball season.

Girardi, 58, is available after getting fired by the Philadelphia Phillies just over a year ago following two-plus seasons on the bench.

Girardi posted a 132-141 record as manager of the Phillies. He has a 1,120-935 record during 14 seasons as manager of then-Florida Marlins (2006), New York Yankees (2008-17) and Phillies (2020-22). He managed the Yankees to a World Series title over the Phillies in 2009.
