The San Francisco 49ers are expected to move recently signed former All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman to the starting lineup for Sunday's road game against the Philadelphia Eagles, ESPN reported.

Norman, 33, signed a one-year deal with the club just before the season started and was inactive for the opener against the Detroit Lions.

The 49ers were already thin at the position before losing cornerback Jason Verrett to a torn ACL in the 41-33 victory at Detroit.

The team's other presumed starter, Emmanuel Moseley, is listed as doubtful with a knee injury that also kept him out in Week 1.

Norman has played nine seasons in the league for the Carolina Panthers (2012-15), Washington Football Team (2016-19) and Buffalo Bills (2020). He earned his lone All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection in 2015.

In 120 career games (95 starts), Norman has collected 15 interceptions with three returned for touchdowns. He also has 440 tackles, 83 pass breakups, 13 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and one sack.

He played just nine games for Buffalo last season, making three starts.

Deommodore Lenoir, a fifth-round pick in this year's draft, is expected to start opposite Norman.
